Couch gaming keyboards, wireless and not mushy?
Hi!

I play my games on my couch, keyboard on my lap, mouse next to my thigh because that's how I am as a person and will always be.

The keys can't be spaced or mushy. While looking around I got really lost, people seem to accept mushy and spaced keys. Logitech K830 looked like it was built properly, but was reported to be mushy, now I feel I am a too demanding person.

Do you have any suggestions for something you'd use that is still on the market and not a hassle to find? When I Google "not this" or "not that", I get "this" and "that". Of course, if I'd be ok with wired keyboards, I wouldn't have to look very long. Thanks in advance!

Have you considered mechanical keyboards?

Those are not mushy, not spaced and not cheap.

But wired. :DEALWITHIT:

I've considered mechanical, I've found one that's mechanical and both wired/wireless, Rapoo KX E, but it has touch F keys. I wouldn't mind paying a lot for mechanical and wireless, I just can't find those.

Mushy is when you feel continuous resistance upon pressure of the key along the way to a downpressed and to a released state of the key. They're not clicky enough to register keystrokes in a way that would even the effort of all typing fingers.

There's no such thing as a couch "gaming" keyboard.

Couch keyboards (like the Logitech K40) are designed to be cheap, durable and light and therefore will have mushy keys. They are intended for text input only.

Gaming keyboards are intended to be stationary on a flat surface. They are heavy and often large and mechanical ones won't last very long in a living room environment where they're prone to being dropped. And of course, they are mostly all wired to avoid interference and added latency.

Best solution for you would be to get a Couch Master:

I totally accept that, but I'm looking for a compromise, something in the middle, despite the risk of dropping and damaging. Any keyboard on my thighs alone are not the problem, the problem is that wire. Gets caught in the legs.

I will look into the couch master but it only improves the wrist rest and posture. I want nice keys, without a wire :)

Am I the only one playing on a couch that's not using a gamepad and dislikes mushiness?

Thanks, that's what I'm doing. I just have questions for the picky ones who dislike mushy/sticky keys.

You're not the only one.

But I have always preferred wires on everything—including gamepad.

Especially since the wireless Logitech controller I bought last year scarred me for life. :SADPANDA:

Logitech's wireless gamepads are garbage. Way too prone to interference. The cheaper wired version is much better.

Very few people play games on a couch with a keyboard at all. It was never designed to be used in this way.
