9 week chargeback ban was supposed to end yesterday
So I got this chargeback 9 week ban that said this:

Content purchased with these wallet funds has been removed from your account. This account will have restricted functionality for 9 weeks.
This account will be restricted for 9 weeks (until Oct 4). Purchasing, gifting, trading, cd-key activation, playing online on VAC enabled game servers, and Steam Community access have been disabled. If the chargeback is removed, this restriction will be lifted and the content will be returned to your account.
Once the restriction has been lifted, the MasterCard card used will no longer be an accepted method of payment on Steam.


Anyways yesterday was Oct 4 and as far as I have read about the ban, everything should return to normal after the ban ends except the mastercard will not be excepted (I got a new mastercard so it doesnt matter). However, the only only thing that has actually changed is the notice that appears on the top of my steam overlay that says the message I already wrote down has disappeared. I still am trade/market/community banned and it doesnt say why, there is no message saying I have a market ban on my profile, no trade ban, it just appears on my screen that I am not authorized to do these things and then doesnt say why. It is really frustrating because I already got the stuff I bought with the 100 removed from my account like expected but I still cant do jack ♥♥♥♥. It would be very appreciated if anyone could help.

UPDATE: After 5 days of waiting for a second reply from steam support my ban just randomly disappeared. With no explanation one minute I was on with the ban, the next, I didnt have a ban lol.

Have you reversed the chargeback? Valve does not take kindly to fraud. Those restrictions will stay until the chargeback is reversed and then the 9 week period will start.

As long as they are getting back their 100$ worth of items/games they are fine with it, I did not get a total of 100$ in items for some reason that is why I made the chargeback, anyways that is not what I am worried about, I think it might be a technical error because I have read many other discussions where the same thing happens, Paypal charges back or a person charges back and they finish the 9 week ban (btw you cannot remove paypal chargbacks) and after the 9 week ban all is fine and dandy just their items that they bought with the chargebacked items are removed. One reason I have to believe that it is an error is because when I go onto the community market it says this - Your account is currently locked. To remove this restriction... (then says when I put my cursor over it) Information about this lock can be found by clicking the red bar in the upper right hand corner when logged onto the steam client but thats the thing, THEIR IS NO RED BAR, not in the right hand corner, not on my profile, not on my acount settings, no where. I even tried going onto chrome to see the red bar but it still wasnt there.

You are aware they have to pay a chargeback fee in addition to returning the money to the credit card provider? i.e. they are out money until you reverse the chargeback.

Ok so the issue is resolved, and you may have been right about the chargeback fee except for I did pay for that but it was only a 5% fee so it was only 5 dollars which I was willing to pay. It actually was just a technical error with steam and I had to contact steam support in order to get this fixed. They just told me to restart my steam client and log in and it would be fixed and it was. So if anyone is having this problem the only way to fix it is through contacting steam support

I am quite surprised tech support responded to you quickly while there are some customers waiting a month for a respond. This is sketchy on valve's part. lol..

Ya it is pretty weird I agree, it took them only 3 days to reply.

Check that guys, the ban still is on, for no reason, steam fixed it for a bit, but it is still ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. I will continue to contact steam support.

It isnt fraud if you didnt get what you were payed for and I'm suprised you think I was blatantly commiting fraud. I ordered a 29.99 dlc and did not recieve it, I contacted steam support and they didnt answer for a month, A MONTH, so I charged it back. They had no proof to provide to mastercard that I had recieved the DLC so that is how I was able to do the chargeback. Nothing was removed from my account because I recieved nothing so they banned me for 9 weeks. Even Support believes its a steam error as I said above, they don't know why I am banned when there is nothing on my profile or anywhere. If you guys keep saying that my ban was increased I dont know what is not going through your head, STEAM SUPPORT says it is an error, not a perma ban, why the ♥♥♥♥ do people keep saying my ban was increased when I have said that steam support says its an error!!!
