Go to your steamapps folder and look fora folder named Downloading. Back up or delet the contents and restart steam. You may have a corrupted update downlad This should end the update cycle.

It happen s occasionally when an update is downloaded badly and then it redownloads a new one, the old download still remains in the que though so it constantly runs an update.

I just hope it works. I had a similar issue with DOTA2 recently so I figured what fixed it for me might fix it for you. At the very least ruling out a corrupted Update download.

Sorry to hear. Drop a note on the game's forum. They mauy be able to help you.

Only other thing I could recommend is verifying the game cache

Have you tried just shutting down Steam manually and then re-opening it. Sometimes updates get stuck when people leave Steam open all the time.

From your library

Right CLick on game
Select Properties
Open Local Files Tab
CLick Verify Game Cache

This issue can sometimes also be caused by corrupt date in your steam/appcache folder.

Normally I would tell people to be hesitant deleting files someone on the interwebs tells you to delete as it's a good way to make a mess of things but the solution for it does require deletion XD

Deleting the contents will force steam ro reload it's "settings" as it were.

if you google "steam clear appcache" it will give you step by step instructions no the proper method. This usually fixes download errors and errors in which steam is stuck downloading corrupt data.

Of course first rule of deleting a file is to simply move it to another directory/folder before deliting

try deleating and reinstalling it
