PS3 controller keeps disconnecting

Hi,

I have a problem with the PS3 controller I'm using. As I connect it, Windows either tells me it can't detect the controller, or then it connects and disconnects after just a few seconds. Judging by the sounds (those windows sounds, you know them), at least. For some reason Better DS3 still may or may not recognize the controller, depending on its mood. Before that the controller worked like a charm. I used MotionInjoy to download & install the drivers and Better DS3 for the input mapping etc.

So, any ideas about how to fix this?

How are you connecting it? BlueTooth or USB Cable?
If USB Cable, try another Port or Cable.

USB cable. I've tried another port, should probably try the cable next. Although my computer bluescreened, so the problem might've lied somewhere there, too. I only recently reinstalled everything because my HDD went and died, and I'm pretty lazy about rebooting after updates. That might be the reason, I suppose. I'll update as soon as I've checked the cable.

Yeah, the problem seemed to be the USB cable. The controller kept disconnecting even after checking all my updates were in order, but changing cables worked.
