Getting Banned For ACCEPTING to kick an AFK
Hello the steam Community and Steam Moderators, I am here to talk about the banning system in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. At the start my friends and I didnt really know about the banning system, until we got warned about injuring our teammates and might get banned for that. Therefore, we stopped playing foolishly and started playing safer, which meant not even shooting some of our allies were in front of us, leading to a double kill for the opposing team. But, that isn't the problem since it doesnt happen regularly. The problem is banning players for kicking players. It takes 4 teammates to kick a player, and if one rejects it, the player can't get kicked. This means that if you have an afk player playing with a premade, it is impossible for one to kick that AFK player. So kicking a player is already hard enough...so my only question is why would you put a Competitive cooldown on someone who kicked too much players? I don't get it... It doesn't take one player to kick a player, but the whole team. Therefore, if a player gets kicked there must be a valid reason. This whole discussion is concerning one of my Counter Strike friends, "Revolite". He got a 7 days ban, for kicking too much players, which again doesn't make sense to me. But thats not even the problem... The problem is that once he JUST got out of his competitive cooldown, he joined me and some friends into a game. We were playing as 4 friends and one "stranger". This "stranger" at first asked us to kick him for whatever reason. Then, he suddenly goes AFK for 3 rounds. I repeat it for the ones who missed it, HE WENT AFK FOR 3 ROUNDS. This could of made us win the game... So what I did, is what any reasonable player would do, kick this AFK player. So once I called the vote, everyone accepted and we played with a bot. We ended 16-12... Afterwards, we wanted to play another competitive game, however I couldn't... why? Because my friend got another 7 days ban... Imagine this, he got banned again for ACCEPTING a kick vote on an AFK player. I am begging the steam Moderators, to either change this rule or refund my friend as it is unacceptable to get banned for such a reason. Thank you, your help will be greatly appreciated.

thats what the kick system is for but it was used too much already.
so you get a cooldown.

why do it if you on the 7 day tier?

What you dont seem to understand is I dont see whats wrong with kicking too much players... It is already hard enough to kick a player (4 teammates), so if you can kick someone then there must be a valid reason.Am i going to repeat myself again? Please for anyone commenting or willing to comment, read my first comment. Thank you!

I think you should take off vote to kick all together. At least for competitive matches. It's useless if we get banned everytime we use it. I just got back form a competitive cooldown and I kicked an AFK ONCE and I got banned....

this is why there is a limit people like you don't see whats wrong with it.

"In addition, as your level goes up, the system becomes more strict. At level 0, where an offense would get you a 30 minute ban, you are allowed to vote kick and be vote kicked a few times.

However, at level 3 and up, simply being vote kicked once or vote kicking once will get you a cooldown of 7 days. This is as strict as the system gets."

The guy ACCEPTED A VOTE, he isnt the one kicking... he just accepted. I dont think he deserves a 7 days ban...

does not matter if you are starting the vote or not.
same thing.

Okay I understand... however what are you suppose to do if your team vote to kick an afk and you got a level 3 and up? Are you just going to ignore the big vote message found on the left part of your screen, are you going to say "no", even if the guys is AFK?

That's what i'm saying, the system is waaayyy too harsh...

Its not same thing... You got punsished for kicking too much players, this means you have no right to kick someone, however if someone else kicks a players, you are allowed to agree with him, which leads to accepting his vote...
Creep 8 Thg10, 2015 @ 11:00am
I always vote no but I have a buy buy bind on f1 too :S

you and your friend Revolite read the cooldown guide a few times.

"The server considers a player as AFK if the player has made no actions in a certain amount of time. After this time you will be auto kicked from the server, but you will have a chance to reconnect as you would if you had disconnected (see above)."

So anti-AFK system does its job if a player is truly AFK. If a player is moving on purpose and not participating in the match to act like they're AFK when they're really not then if I remember correctly you can report them in-game for being anti-competitive (Griefing).
