No I am on a mac, I am going to try and verify my game cache.
* before close steam.
*install the last version of google chrome
-save all of your ssf fine in steam folder, like: ssfn6707548694286949085.
-save your: config.vdf & loginusers.vdf & SteamAppData.vdf in the steam/config folder.
-save your common folder in /steam/steamapps
now delete all files, and launch steam, click on: Reinstall Steam.
/!\after the download complete dont log you /!\
copy and pase all files saved in your steam.
launch steam, add you'r preference on your csgo (like: -console -novid)
try to launch csgo wait the file verifications dont close steam at this point just wait.
now try to launch a fast game (like arm race) and check if you can open steam profil.
its work for me (on linux).

I dont know i dont have a mac i think but i'm not sure.
Try and let me know if it works, dont worry you dont lost your game and you don't need to download again your game. follow just my instructions.
