PC smells like cigarette
So for a couple of days now, im starting to pick up some smell of cigarette in my room. especially when i get close to my PC. (when its on) I've tried to look up on the net but it doesn't help me much, i tried to clean it, but the smell is still there. I've looked up a bit more in the net and the second answer is my PSU. I am a non smoker and i live with my parents, my dad does smoke but outseide. sometimes the smell comes around the house when he smokes but not for long. any help?

Does it smell like an actual cig, or does it smell like smoke.

might be smoke, tbh i can't really tell, the smell isn't overwhelming the room but whenever you get close to the pc and you start breathing normally, the back of your throat feels like you're breathing in someone's cigarette or smoke.

If it's smoke, then something in your PC is likely frying. Or fried.

Turn it off. Open it up. Dust it out. Use a flashlight and look at EVERYTHING for scorch marks or blown caps.

Yeah, make sure it's not the power supply, otherwise that can cause a lot of issues.

clean your pc
use an aircompressor or cans of compressed air

could be dust in the psu or gpu/cpu coolers

Time to pull out the compressed air can! :D
I once re-assembled an old PC and when I put it back together the PSU went POOF! and smoke came out of it! But it didn't smell like a cig, it smelled like something was burned... :steamsad:

Make sure to unplug & replug wires to check the wires (and parts they connect to) for any signs of damage and act accordingly.
