Sims 3 Pets Activation/log Errors

okay I have never had any problems with a steam game before so I need some help, recently I just bought the 29.99 pack for sims 3 plus the pets, I bought the game directly off steam, I don't have a CD I bought at a store, I bought it from the steam store. Anyways when I try to start up the launcher it has a log error, I am not sure how to fix this, I did however find a way to bypass the launcher, but when I try to use my activation code the code fails.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I am not sure how to directly contact a steam admin to see if they need to send me new codes for the sims 3 and the sims 3 pet expansion.

In the library view, on the right side of the window there's a CD Key link. Click that and it should bring up your keys for both.

Put those into the EA account.

It's still called a CD Key. Activation code, cd key,etc. All the same thing.

oh okay I was not aware of this, I have the activation codes steam gave me saved on a notepad, how would I add them to an EA account?

It probably needs Origin. Maybe you need to register the keys in Origin.

The last time I ran it, it had it's own silly launcher and totally separate account. But that was waaaay back in 2011.

Did you try manual activation? Also checking the Log might help.

yeah that is what I have seen people say when I check google for a solution, I have no idea how to register the codes into origin without having to buy the game all over again :/

You simply redeem the code.

Origin > Add Game.

Manual Activation tells me to send some info to a certain email, when I tried to email said email, it fails to send, like the email is no longer active or whatever. So sadly I can't even get the manual way to work either.

hmmm I will have to see if this works, I did not actually find this when I tried looking for log errors

Yeah try Snapjak's suggestion. Start up Origin and click on the left top on Origin->Add Game -->Reedeem Product Code and try your codes there
