How can I record my gameplay on steam?
I would like to post video clips of my gameplay on game forums and in steam guides. But whats the easiest way of creating the video clips using steam?

I watched several Youtube tutorials but they all seem to say something different and most of them don;t even work.

If you have Windows 10 or 11 then the easiest way is just to use Xbox Game Bar.

You can also use Shadow Play if you have a Nvidia card, that comes included with the GFE app.

OBS is free and fairly simple to use too.

Ah! I've got Windows 10 and the GeForce Experience app. So, maybe I'll just use Shadow Play. Is it compatible with the Steam video playing system?
e.g. will I have trouble using the recordings in my guides?

Nope you just use embedded youtube links.

Ok! So treat it as a Youtube video then.

I'm a bit confused though because if thats the case what are all those videos in the Community Hub about. It implies you can upload them directly to it.

No, you just link your youtube account then you can choose what videos to share to Steam. As for videos in guides, you just use embedded links like this:

Ok! Thanks I'll give it go.

I've tested Shadow Play and it seems to be working as expected. So its just a case of working out how to get the results onto Steam.
