Sims 4 installed -> Can I purchase expansion packs and add them to my game?

I already own Sims 4 over Origins. Is it possible that I purchase expansion packs on Steam and add them to my game?

No, you cannot buy the DLC on Steam unless you own the base game on Steam. You either need to get the DLC on Origin or buy the base game on Steam to get access to DLC here.

Doing that worked for me on Sims 3 and many other EA games. Your main problem is that steam won't let you buy them without owning Sims 4 (base game) on steam.

You don't need to repurchase the dlc on Steam if you own them on Origin.

He's asking if he can get more DLCs here for a game he owns only on Origins. It won't work unless MAYBE if the game's DLCs are standalone DLCs as he won't be able to buy them unless he owns the base on Steam.
