Ubisoft - problem authentication the ownership of this product
I just received The Crew 2 as a gift, and when i launched it i got an error saying, "There was a problem authentication the ownership of this product". I have a Ubisoft account linked with my Steam account and also have a few other Ubisoft games. But this time i had a different Ubisoft account already logged in, is there any way to fix this?
Also this other Ubisoft account already has The Crew 2 but from Epic Game (idk if this is relevant)

you May have too many accounts MegaZinger...

filter out which one you bought it with
which one you sent the gift to

you May even be surprised to learn that you shouldn't buy more than one of the same game and gift it to yourself.

looks suspicious to the stores library filter engine.

I'd expect you to only be able to buy one, and when you buy another, if you try to add it to an account with it already added it will not add another.

If you bought it as a gift. there are some things you should already be aware of.

#1 is you're buying it so the recipient will play with you.
#2 is you're buying it to play the same platform (PC-Steam)
#3 is you're buying it to play the cross platform (Windows PC - Xbox Only) Literately has to say Cross-Platform Game
#4 is you're gifting it to some Account that you hold no rights to (some person NOT you)

If none of these things match it's suspicious apparently.

In your case the Authorised dealer sold you a game license which you then tried to add to an Online Library operated by Steam and UbiSoft.

The Client(YOU) does not have the rights to the license. Meaning you lost the license.

>Contact the authorised Dealer for a new license Key.
>Ask Steam AND UbiSoft to verify the License Key you received is legit by troubleshooting with support and having someone add it for you.

You can only link Steam account A to Ubisoft account A.

You cannot link Steam account A to Ubisoft account B.

Was a copy, paste. Forget to change it to Ubisoft. Thanks. Edited my post.

ah, I see. I thought that the Steam game will directly open using the Ubisoft account that is linked with the Steam account. Instead it opens with the Ubisoft account that is currently logged in.
I have contacted Ubisoft, hopefully they resolve this issue. Otherwise i'll just have to buy it myself. :(

Because you were logged into a different Ubisoft account than the one linked to your Steam account, hence the error message about authentication.
