Xbox Elite controller stopped working on steam

A week ago my controller was working just fine while playing my game and now it won't connect to the game through steam. I've update the controller and my PC. I've gone through the process of forgetting the devices bluetooth connection and reconnecting it. I even checked to make sure it wasn't just my controller not connecting to my PC in general by opening a different game through a different platform and everything worked fine. I am now at a loss on what to do to fix the issue. If anyone can help come up with a solution I would be forever grateful!

Disable Steam's input mapper for XInput and restart Steam
