Does refresh rate really matter for games like Wicther 3, Black Myth Wukong?
I have connected my PC ( AMD 5800H, RTX 3050ti, 120 Hz Refresh Rate) with my Samsung Frame TV which supports 4K 120Hz for gaming. And I played Witcher 3, and observed that 1080p with 60Hz and it is too good. I have changed the settings to clock more than 60Hz and 4K but it is picking only 1080p with 60Hz but even with that, the gaming is too good. So, I really wonder does the refresh rate really matter?

Yes and no. As a rule of thumb, anything above 60 FPS/Hz doesn't really matter (unless you play highly competative online games and are good enough to make use of that tiny bit less latency).

Hell, there's people genuinely not noticing a difference between 30 and 60! This stuff is pretty subjective. I, for example, can tell different colors in time-multiplexed RGB lights and i do feel the difference between 60 and 120 even in games with little requirements to reaction time (which includes TW3). Not to an extent I'd insist on 120 though.

I connect to an older Samsung TV (46" TFT-LCD). Even though it supports HD 120 hz, I find consistently better play at 1080p/ 60 hz/60 fps.

Not sure about Wukong, but Witcher 3 I guarantee you won't miss the frames if you play at 60Hz/60fps.

But I'm dealing with an older rig, YMMV.

I don't play competitive games. I mostly play games like Witcher 3, Assassin's Creed, Batman Arkham Knight, Shadow of War. And also want to install games like Black Myth Wukong and Elden Ring. So, I just want to know if buying a monitor with 4k 60Hz is enough for playing these games.

Unless you're extremely sensitive, 60 FPS/Hz is absolutely enough.

Yes, I'm getting ready to buy a new TV, and 60 FPS/Hz is still my benchmark.
