steam support asking for my adress?
Hello people of the interwebs!

I’m reaching out because a piece on my Valve Index broke, and I’m trying to get a replacement part. The strange thing is that Steam Support is directly asking me for my shipping address, which is kind of odd since I ordered the headset directly from Steam.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Give them the address as requested. It's to ensure that scammers don't use stolen accounts to try and obtain free pieces of replacement equipment addressed to themselves which they can sell or use themselves as new.

Ok? Maybe you moved. Maybe you actually want it shipped to a work address and not your home. Everytime you order something from Amazon they want you to verify the shipping address as part of the checkout.

Just give them the address.

I fail to see how that is suspicious. All they're doing is verifying your information, making sure you are who you say you are and asking so they know where to send the part.

Perfectly normal procedure.

They need an address to ship the replacement part to.
