New index controller does not charge
I got my valve index in today and I was looking at the controllers after unboxing.
The left one charges and turns on, but the right one is completely dead.
What's making me worry is the light indicator isn't even working for charging.

The controller has already been plugged in for an hour and still nothing.
I've even tested the cables to make sure they are charging properly.
I've also tried resetting the controller from the troubleshoot page.

Hey, sorry to hear you're having trouble with your new controller, that sounds super frustrating! Since you’ve already tried a few things, here are a couple more steps that might help:

Try a Different Charging Cable: Even though you’ve tested the cable, it might be worth trying a completely different cable, preferably one you know works with other devices, just to rule out any issues with the original.

Change the Power Source: If you haven’t already, try plugging the controller into a different power source (a different wall adapter, USB port, or power bank). Sometimes certain USB ports or adapters don’t deliver enough power.

Check for Debris: Inspect the charging port on the controller itself to make sure there’s no dust or debris inside that might be preventing it from charging properly.

Controller Reset: I know you mentioned trying the reset from the troubleshoot page, but here’s the process just to make sure it's the one you've done:

Press and hold the System Button (the button under the touchpad) and the Trigger for 15 seconds.
After the 15 seconds, release both, then wait a few seconds, and try charging again.
Leave it Charging Longer: In some rare cases, a completely drained battery might take longer to show signs of life. Leave it plugged in for a few hours and check again.

Contact Steam Support: If none of these work, it might be a defective controller, which unfortunately happens sometimes. In that case, you’ll want to contact Steam Support to see if you can get a replacement.

Hey thanks for the reply, I left it plugged in overnight, as well as trying some other phone chargers. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to say this controller is defective. I had a feeling but wanted to ask the community to see what else i can do. Thanks for the more detailed help.

I had this happen to one of my controllers too, it was doa and wouldn't charge.

Had to RMA it through stream support.
