Gifted Preorder Advanced Access

So my friends gifted me a game preorder, it will allow me to play the game several days before release.


My problem is that it is not clearly indicated, when I open the game in the library it tells me that te game will be available on the release date, shouldn't it say that it will be available on advanced access day?

Same here. TDU SC is the game I’m gifted with. I just need info on how advanced access works in this case. I’d be feeling anxious to know, maybe I can try asking Steam Support about it.

It will always show the actual release date in the library regardless of it having advanced access. This is how it is intended.

If you need more information as to when you can have Advanced Access, ask in the games own forum.

It usually says it somewhere in the publishers blurb on the store page, for TDU there's a gold banner around the Gold Edition box, which states it'll become playable from the 5th September.

It works in the normal way Steam works, once the date is reached you will be able to download and play the game as though it was the full release date that others are waiting for.

It is of course subject to the usual time zone issues, so it won't necessarily be available from midnight on the 5th depending on where the publishers are compared to you.

I purchased Space Marine 2 for my friend and he has NO access to the early access even though its the Ultra Edition! How does he download the game now that it's out?! I've already downloaded it just fine!

Tell your friend to delete Steam's browser cache and restart Steam.
