Steam just won't detect a PS5 controller
I just bought a game on Steam just for the sake of using my PS5 controller on it, and Steam just won't detect my controller.
Yes, my computer detects my controller, I tried the Run > joy.cpl, and it actually detects my controller. Yes, I tried running Steam in admin mode. Yes, I tried using Big Picture.
Can I just manually tell Steam to detect my controller, because it sucks at trying itself ?

What game is it? Not all games support ps5 controlers.

If the gams you play doesnt support the type of controller you own, you could try to change to emulated controller in steam controller settings. Or preferably use an emulator. I use dsx for example with 2 or 3 controller drivers.

An easy way to check if steam detects controler is to press the playstation button while in the normal steam app. It should move you to the big picture or else look in the controller settings if it detects the controller.

I just bought Black Myth Wukong, and the steam product page says it support DualSense controllers. I went to Steam settings > Controllers to check the Steam Input things, it just won't detect the controller.

Is your steam client / Windows / all drivers up to date?

Maybe try to delete the controler from devices and pair it again via bluetooth..

Did you check the "playstation configuration" box in controller settings (big picture)

Big picture, game settings "Steam Input Per-Game Setting, select Force Off"

Yeah I already tried all of that.
I installed your Dsx emulator thing, and looks like it works now. Kinda lame that Steam can't detect a damn controller in a USB port tho. Thank you anyways :)

Maybe you have a 1 way cable? That can only send data and not recieve data?
Edit: that wouldnt make sense because you said it works on other apps 😆

Try bluetooth pairing its a bit more practical too :)

Hold the share button and playstation home button until it starts blinking blue
And add to devices on your pc?

Yeah I linked it with the cable that you get with your PS5.
I tried using bluetooth too, didn't work either.
Gotta use DSX I guess
