Steam Recording?

Looking at ways to record things on Steam mostly for fun, but when looking up how to actually do it, I get this:

Which isn't really helpful, because I can't find Game recording in settings or in the Overlay when playing a game, so was looking to see if anyone had any idea

Are you in the Steam client beta?

You need to be using the Steam Client beta to use the recording feature.
