Still dont explan QoS or other ip mangament or wifi radio, and other wifi unit ( tablet or mobil ) on the network that out of the blue take bandwide. ( even telly and xbox on wifi can do that see Router ( status ) to ruleout other units.
And do not have other app running that check for updates or service that use bandwide.
6 games on same network might not be the problem if bandwide is there, and you still need to have 6 games data into "Broadband Internet connection" and back with 6 update per playre so it actual matter, and if you have switch , then its skip store and forward ( i think it was called fast forward option if you even have such to reduce Latency, if it matters, and you are still bound at Servers that make a DC to whatevere player or that pc.
And it DONT look like a poisen revesed , then all pc will have NO internet connection, it seem to be 1 pc that mean server or reply from that pc is Disconnect aka not online or keep alive check is lost that mean Disconnect, you might ask game Forum if game is stable enough.
Speedtest ( dont explan from ISP into steam server or game devs server ) ask ISP for that test, if they even care. or can see a issue.
https://www.speedtest.net/
Test for bad packet on every pc ( we did that with ping test 5 times ) plz do 3 just to be sure,
https://packetlosstest.com/
Dont forget if ISP line has it then ask them.
gl with it.
as i understand it there is no dedicate server or tool. ( such will have been best for own local lan game in this case so wan line bandwide issue is on minimum. )
Dont forget we have seen this before in other games. ( cant say about that game ) i doubt you have a cheater among you then you are Friends and it a fun night event )
Rest is ask game devs for help. ( also ask for multi user issue and bandwide requirements, it do not say its okay , but same time did not say no. ( its a pvp server , in old days that ment 1 player to a server.
Problem is multi usres , and how many you can play from same locations can be issue.
and dont expect game devs tell you internal server issue and pressure on it,
You might get max 2-4 players maybe if you are lucky, if you recall old games did only have 4 players,
They host the game but you need to sync among all players ( diablo3 did that )
you look like you know all this, but 6 players thats game devs job to explan better or should i say , now all think they have the world greatest wan line, but you forgot , rest of the way from ISP into game serverm that dont mean you have 1GB line all the way.
same as you dont have full DL to server on other site of earth. ( this is not that simple depend on what ISP and game devs says.
ps.
and be happy you get a reply, i could just say ASK game support and own ISP if you actual have a issue.
I only reply because your point is valid, how many players can we actual have on own LAN into a game /steam server, then game store info dont tell it.
You might want to ask steam support or steam suggestion, if other did not have done so already.
we all know here what about MMO 8-16 player in a lan party you need way more then 1GB then. ( they surf and DL and have other things open )
Hey there Iceira, I am very sorry it's taken me this long to reply, but I want to thank you for you trying to help me, and also I want to say sorry for not giving sufficient information.
I ran the speed test and it states im getting 930 mbps down and 41 mbps up, I ran the packet loss test and didn't lose any. I was able to test some more, and it seems that if 3 of us are playing at the same time, it never drops the connection. 4 seems to be the threshold of maybe it will, maybe it won't, but when theres 6 of us, its definitely just become assumed that it will happen at least once. When we became more aware of this, we made sure there was nothing else using internet other than the six PC's and it still happens. Also, PCars2 has automatic host migration, so we have actually had instances where the original host PC disconnects and it migrates the host duties to another computer. Unfortunately the studio that originally made pcars 2 has been fired and so there is no official support, in fact, you can't even still buy pcars2 on steam, I just happened to have gottem it before it went offline, but there is still online support and people playing to this day, I will try my luck on the Pcars2 steam forum, just thought it was worth starting here. Take care.
1. Check Network Configuration: Double-check your router settings to ensure that there are no limitations on the number of simultaneous connections. Some routers have settings that can limit connections to a specific number, which could be causing the disconnects.
2. Enable Quality of Service (QoS): If your router supports QoS, enabling it can help prioritize the traffic for the gaming PCs, ensuring they get the necessary bandwidth to maintain stable connections.
3. Port Forwarding: Check if Project Cars 2 requires specific ports to be forwarded on your router. Properly configuring port forwarding can sometimes help with connection issues in peer-to-peer setups.
4. Local Network Traffic: Make sure no other devices on your network (like smartphones, smart TVs, or tablets) are using bandwidth during your gaming sessions. Even with six PCs, background tasks on other devices could create issues.
5. Use a Wired Connection for All PCs: While you mentioned that all six PCs are hard-wired, verify that there are no issues with the Ethernet cables or switches in use. If they are sharing a switch, try connecting them directly to the router if possible.
6. Game Settings: Check the game settings in Project Cars 2 to see if there are any options that could affect network performance. Reducing visual settings may also help lighten the load on the PCs, improving overall stability.
7. Run as Administrator: Have all users run Steam and the game as an administrator. This can sometimes resolve permission issues that could lead to disconnections.
8. Alternative Hosting Methods: As you mentioned automatic host migration, consider using one of the PCs that tends to hold its connection longer as the primary host and see if that helps.
9. Check for Firewall/Antivirus Interference: Make sure the firewalls and antivirus software on all machines are configured correctly to allow Project Cars 2 and Steam to operate without interruptions.
10. Game Forums and Communities: Since you mentioned looking into the Project Cars 2 Steam forums, that’s a great idea! Other players often share similar experiences and insights that might provide solutions or workarounds.
It sounds like you've already done a lot of troubleshooting, and I hope these additional suggestions help you pinpoint the issue so you can enjoy a smoother gaming experience with your friends. Good luck!
Thank you so much for the additional help! ill definitely try some of your suggestions
