ERROR message: "Error out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource..."

I keep getting this error message "Error out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource..." every single time i buy and download a game from steam. The games do not load or even start. I have searched the internet and not found any sort of solution for this. My drivers and computer is completely up to date, and i have previously played games that were much bigger/had better graphics which worked with no problem (literally a week ago). I use AMD if that's needed. Please help, thank you.
