Should I wait for the winter sale?
So a couple of games that I put on my WishList has come up for sale today. (House Flipper and ARK) That sale price is good up until the 20th, two days before our winter sale starts.

My question is, has anyone experienced buying a game on steam right before a big sale only for it to go back on sale for a cheaper price? House Flipper is on sale for -70% so its now $5.99 and Ark is -67% off $9.89 compared to $29.99. I have yet to experience the winter sale so I don't know how good the deals actually are, and I haven't been on steam long enough to know if that's something they would do. I'm not too worried about loosing a buck or two, I just don't want to miss out on a good bundle or something like that.

There's that general assumption that sales EVENTS (as opposed to regular constant sales) are guaranteed to have lower prices.

They aren't. A few years go, I bought a game for 50% off on the X-mas sale (winter sale, if you prefer), only to find out it's been 67% off 2 weeks prior. The same base price, mind you.

I am speculating here, but I think, this false assumption of sales events being cheaper may lure publishers to fool buyers, to purposely not crank prices as much down during events because hey, those hype sheep will buy anyway, but I really am speculating at this point.

Either way, 70% off for 6 bucks is pretty good. While you can wait, there's no guarantee you'll get a better price (or even the same).

You shouldn't worry about missing out. Don't focus on what you don't have, focus on what you have. Get yourself a couple games you enjoy and enjoy them. Ultimately, we got less time to play good games than there's good games on Steam, so better focus on the fun! FOMO, by the way (Fear Of Missing Out) is a classic manipulation technique on the gaming market. A publisher & MMO marketing teams love playing on their customers' FOMO. By not giving a ♥♥♥♥ about missing out, you'll automatically get resistant to foul marketing schemes.

I assume the prices would not be much more in your favor on steam.
Considering last event sales.

Here you can see histories of games and create a waitlist with set price
