Select "Add a Friend" and at the top it will show you a number, your "friendcode".
Give that to your Co-worker and he can add you with the friendcode directly.
OR just give him a link to your Steam profile and he can invite you as a friend that way.
Thanks. Man, I wish Steam had gone the Playstation "User name" route instead of the Nintendo "friend code route". MUCH easier.
It kind of does, there's something called "Vanity URLs" on steam, which act in a sense similar to usernames, people have to have a unique one, and it allows you to search for the user. For example my one is UmiF, and it's great since it shortens your profile URL as well.
I like the idea of having a display name you can freely change around without any commitment though
