Headset not working in pc

I recently bought a Razer blackshark v2 headset with 3.5mm audio ports (splitter provided from razer) , but its not working properly in my main gaming pc .. BUT is working absolutely fine in my new laptop ( ASUS TUF A15 , ryzen 7 7435HS & RTX 3050 4gb )....

i also tested this on my spare old pc , and it ran even worse there ( worse than my main pc )..

my gaming pc is also does not have all latest gen hardwares .. its specs are

>GTX 1060 6gb
>GIGABYTE Aorus B450M
>ryzen 5600g
>16gb

old pc specs are ,

>GIGABYTE H310
>i3 8100
>8gb

...the headset audio is decent in my main pc ( have not tested audio in old pc ) ..however its kinda bad when compared to the laptop ... when i plug it in my laptop the audio is just too good ..

And the mic when plugged into my main pc is not audible ( it is technically audible but its just so bad , like even if i yell it not audible .. and does not detects sounds if i move the mic a inch from my mouth )

Nothing like these happens in laptop , everything works fine there ... mic is super crisp , loud and clear as someone would expect from a razer product ...

And on the old pc, nothing is audible .. ( literally nothing )

I never used any gaming brand headphone this costly as razer thats why im really worried about what is going wrong with it :(

previously i used to use a cheap <20$ headset for like 4 years which had a usb port , and that never ever had anything like this .. i always use to use it on my main pc .. ( even on my old pc in early days ) ... that headset also had 7.1 surround sound .. and when playing games, i can literally feel that thing ... but now when i use the 7.1 with the new razer headset its not working like that ..and also the problems i discussed before also exists ..
However when using the razer headset in laptop , i get the same 7.1 feel in games as i used to get before ....

NO driver conflicts happened / is responsible for this .. i made sure of it with all my days of research before coming into steam forums for help .. i never messed up with any realtek audio drivers before , its the same as it was 4 years ago

Any helpful information, suggestions would really help me fix this problem ...

Well you just clear its not the headset then it work at laptop.
Nothing like these happens in laptop , everything works fine there ... mic is super crisp , loud and clear as someone would expect from a razer product ...

rest is driver and support from Razor own page maybe,

i reecomemed you use discord as sound test with mic, and im sure you know output device can be diffrent then speaker and headset. ( also why it work at laptop , most mute speaker and switch to headset automatic, we have not seen desktop pc do this ever, but maybe someday they will. you need to tell system use headset or not.

I bet you wish desktop pc will auto switch to headset then its attached, im not even sure if there is a solution on this never search for it, then you can ingame select headset and solve this that way.

yeah , all the time i was testing the mic , i was using discord .. both in laptop and pc ( both pcs ) .. and also tried the windows inbuild sound recorder thing .. and it resulted the same as i discussed ... both audio and mic is just bad in both pcs and laptop ones are just perfect ...

edit:
when i connect it to my desktop / laptop i always get a prompt from realtek , which device got inserted , and i select it appropriately there .. all these i already tested for past few days .. nothing works

Check Driver at Razor, if this can fix it.

watchout for speaker sound go into mic, and distortion or to loud then it go into echo issue and swing higher and higher, well you know this if you are MP and not the first time you have to adjust its sound settings.

i for got to add something to my main post is that , as i said i was using a 20$ headset for 4 years and after that it died like a year ago and then i bought a cheap 10$ earphone , and was using it with a splitter on my main gaming pc .. and both its audio and mic is working fine , even when i plug it today into my pc its working fine ... and when i plug it into laptop it gets better audio also

regarding the razer headset , i tried using the splitter audio and mic ports EACH separately plugging into my laptop to check if the splitter is faulty or not , and NO .. it was just same output i get if i plug-in without the splitter into the laptop... so the splitter is also not faulty

tried installing their drivers on pc and laptop both

And on pc they work for audio ( meaning they are modifying the audio NOT improving anything ) , but NOTHING is changing the mic ... its same crappy sound i get on pc

on laptop as usual eveything works fine , with / without drivers

Also wanna add that i tried plugging into both font and back of my cabinet.. and still same results

You might end up with buying or testing with use headset, or buy one of them IT headset many has learn to use then you have headset on you lets says 8hours each day, and many was tires of them hot ears we get with them, again i can only explan what many do.

no thanks to ear muffins i think they call it that.


test headset on other pc. to make sure where it come from, dont forget laptop has alot of noise reduction and shielded for interference, to a certain level.

well i finally fixed everything but going into the device manager and then selecting the "sound video and game controller " , and then was following the steps and always choosing the 2nd option , and finally had the option to choose "High definition audio drivers" OR "Realtek audio drivers " .. by switching to the "high def .. audio " from " realtek " fixed it for me ...


but however , now if i try to open realtek console , it shows unsupported , maybe since i changed it to Hd Audio... but everything is resolved now .. audio and mic , its perfect now on my pc , same as laptop
