Do VAC bans go away?
There are some false bans happening with Call of Duty and I was wondering if a VAC ban be removed from someone's Steam account.

I do not want a VAC ban on my profile. That will look really bad.

Incorrect ones yes. Correct ones no.

Also new CoD games don't use VAC.

No, but you don't have any VAC ban on this account. There is no such thing as a "false ban", all game bans and VAC bans are fully checked before being applied.

I do not want a VAC ban on my profile.

Then don't cheat or whatever. Simple as that.

No. The answer is in the meaning of the word 'permanent'. It wouldn't be permanent if it could be removed.

Wow! So now I have to worry about who I'm playing with in public lobbies? That's some bs.

You will only be banned if you are in a pre-made party with the malicious player. This is because you knowingly joined the party with someone who is cheating and are therefore seen to be taking advantage of it. You won't be banned for playing with or matching a random cheater found through public match making.

It can, but you would have to contact Activision. If they decline, then it's final.

If it was applied in error then yes.

There are such things as false bans and those do get rolled-back. This time last year on CS2, anti-lag and high-DPI were causing false game, and VAC bans which Valve duly removed.

That is not the point. 1% chance is too big of a chance for me. Nobody should worry about getting a false ban.

So, if I don't cheat or open my account to phishers, I don't worry about being banned. You probably shouldn't either unless you're up to something shady.

There are currently exploits getting innocent players banned in Call of Duty so many users are apprehensive about risking playing https://www.pcgamer.com/games/call-of-duty/activision-says-it-fixed-a-workaround-in-call-of-duty-anti-cheat-that-banned-a-small-number-of-innocent-players-but-a-cheat-maker-claims-they-could-ban-anyone-by-typing-two-words-into-chat/

I read about this after it was patched and the bans were reversed. Pretty bad exploit based on how simple it apparently was to do.

For game bans the developer submits reports to Valve, and the developer should be referred to for game ban policies.
For VAC bans, the VAC program flags known cheats and behavior patterns of cheats, and triggers an automatic ban that is delated a random amount of time to make it harder for cheat developers to know they have been detected.
