How to reset achievement progress for one game?

I’m playing a free game and accidentally got an achievement there. It ruins my overall achievement stats so I used a console to remove this achievement. Unfortunately, although the achievement disappeared my progress is still lowered. Furthermore it still shows that I have 5% completion of this game even with no achievements. I removed the game from my account but it didn’t solve an issue (it worked before for a different game) and after readding I still have no achievements but 5% completion. Help???

You can't.

Devs can implement a reset. It has to be done on their end since they're also responsible for the triggers. Not all devs do implement such a reset, mind. Some examples are TF2, Factorio and Terraria.

If the game doesn't have it, you could use SAM.

Any game where you've got at least one achievement will forever count towards your achievement stats. Removing cheevos with in-game options/Steam console/SAM won't change anything; actually you'll be stuck with "0% game" lowering you average achievement completion rate.

how come? i did it once and it worked - removed the game and stats went back to normal :(

Soooo AGCR (average game completion rate, it's displayed on achievement showcases) have gone up? Or not? Total number of achievements goes down properly after using

so i used this steam achievement manager
cleared all my stats, in library it finally shows 0% but AGCR hasnt changed.. and when i click at all achievements number it says its from 17 games (i have 16 so i guess it still counts that game.. but it doesnt count the one i deleted previously)
mega stupid i hope it will fix itself eventually
