Cannot accept gift card
I received an email from a family member with a gift card, I proceeded to accept the gift but it does not allow me. I received a message saying there was an error and to try later, and then it completely dissapeared not giving me the option to accept the gift or showing it anymore. Help!

Can you specify the problem a little more?
Do you mean you got sent the code and when you enter it on Steam it gives you an error?
If so, then I suggest you to contact Steam by submitting a ticket about this because they know much better and can definitely help you resolve this issue asap!
They won't take long to respond.

I got sent a virtual gift card, which I received via email, so no code was specified. When I click it, it takes me to a page where I can accept or decline the gift. When I click "accept" it displays an error saying I cannot accept at the moment and that I have to wait a few minutes to try again. No matter how long I wait and how many times I try, it never lets me redeem.

Following up with the suggestion on submitting a ticket. How do I do that? I've been looking for a place to get more direct connection to steam support, but I cannot find it anywhere.

Did you have to log in to your Steam account on that website? Have you spoken with the sender of the gift?

Yes, the sender is a family member, so I know it's not a scam. However I cannot claim the gift.

Ask your family member to check their purchase history here https://store.steampowered.com/account/history/ to ensure the transaction was successful.

An update to those following this issue or having the same complication.

In order to accept and activate a gift card sent to you, whether it is sent by a user or a guest, both sender and receiver have to be from the same region. Otherwise, you will not be able to accept and activate the gift and Steam will need to issue a refund for the sender.

I hope this helps prevent issues and understand why you cannot accept a gift from someone on a different region than you.

Same region only applies to some regions, not all.
