here is a video for you step by step https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiSTsKt1j-k&ab_channel=MinuteManualMinuteManual
1. Make an YouTube account.
2. Upload your videos to your YouTube account.
3. Visit Steam via browser, login, and link your YouTube account with Steam.
4. Select your videos you wish to share on your Steam account.
You're done.
There's different apps for different purposes; some for livestreaming which can be used for recording, and others for editing. For livestreaming and recording, a lot of people tend to use OBS Studio and save as a non .FLV format; something like .MP4 is better for editors as they tend not to like FLV (though FLVs if interrupted are usually recoverable).
It really depends on what exactly you want to do, on how anyone can respond or give suggestions. You can use OBS Studio for example to record your screen or portions of it by using the CROP function to remove unnecessary parts if you're reacting to something, else you can by default capture any of a source, such as a video game. You can use the same program to capture yourself in a webcam if you so desired as well.
One big step is knowing your audio in something like OBS Studio, always test it first to ensure the mic if being used is on the right device, as well as the right system audio; your headset if using a headset instead of the speakers etc.
Making videos is fairly easy to do, but depending on what exactly you want to make in terms of a video and the editing determines what some of us recommend as hardware for the system, which should be no less than 16GBs of RAM and at least a basic quad core CPU.
But information helps on what we can also link that may be more suitable for the type of videos you want to make.
So what kind of videos are you generally looking to make?
General discussion, reaction/commentary/politics, gameplay, livestreaming, etc?
If you have an NVIDIA Graphics Card you can use NVIDIA Shadowplay, else:
-Run universe sandbox
-Run OBS Studio
--On the right in "Audio Mixer" theres "Desktop audio", hit the gear and select the device you want to capture system audio from. Do this for mic/aux as well, should you want to use a mic - if not, click the sound icon to mute that line.
-Click on "Settings" near the bottom right, go to "Output"; theres a section for "Recording Path", set that to wherever you wish to store recordings. Make sure "Recording format" is either FLV or MP4 (for most compatible for editing software). Apply, hit OK Note: MP4 if you wish to edit, as some programs for editing do not support FLV. YouTube does support FLV files.
--OPTIONAL: In "Settings" in the "Video" category, for OUTPUT it is likely by default 1280x720, you can change that to whatever you want along with the base resolution and FPS, which should be 60 for youtube videos and 30 for Streaming (unless they support 60 FPS for basic users)
-Select "Game Capture", if the program doesnt show in OBS, then use "Window Capture" and it'll work. Else if it doesn't display in either, close OBS Studio, and run as Admin.
-When ready, hit "Record" until you're done. Once done hit "Stop Recording"
From there if you have a youtube account, you can upload the raw file itself if you're happy with this.
If you want to edit it, you can use said recording from the path you selected, and edit it in any program that you want to use.
For this purpose, https://www.movavi.com/screen-recorder/ could be a good fit. It’s user-friendly and allows you to record your screen with just a few clicks, which can be very handy if you're recording tutorials or gameplay on Steam. It also includes basic editing tools, so you can trim your videos or add captions directly after recording, making it a practical choice for your first steps in video creation.
How to post YouTube videos to Steam
I hope this helps. :)
