Agree, I don't like the site but remember a chargeback can incur a fee of up to several hundred dollars, plus the cost of the gift cards. Afterall G2A isn't getting the money back and they did nothing wrong in this scenario. So your talking hundreds of dollars, not just a few bucks.
They aren't an intermediate as they had no part in the transfer of the gift cards to a 3rd party. They completed their part of the transaction.
If it was allowed anyone could walk into a store, buy a giftcard, sell it online and then demand a refund claiming it was stolen and then just issue a chargeback if they refuse.
It did not happen.
Do not follow scam stories.

Don't bother. And I can explain why.
You could report me right now. For anything you want. Tell Valve I scammed you. I looted your inventory. Fabricate some screenshots. Whatever you think will help.
But Valve can see we've never interacted and I don't engage in trading or marketing. So there's nothing to do. Valve doesn't take action against user accounts just because some other users reports them. At the end of the day there has to be some evidence the user was actually doing the things the report is claiming.
As for items, account security is your responsibility. Valve doesn't restore items. All trades are final.

You don't always get notified and often the accounts used to scam you are in fact innocent accounts that have been hijacked and eventually restored back to their original owner.
