How do I give trading cards away
Don't ban me, I just want to give all my cards to a friend but the only option I've got is to sell. Also is there a way I can stop receiving cards as I have no interest in them at all

Also, you cannot opt out of the cards. Probably because it would mean less income for Steam and the Devs. Steam gets 5% of card sales on the market, and devs get 10% of them.

It's foolish to not want them though. It's free items that the community places value on. Take little to no effort to sell them and then use the funds to purchase things you really want. Or trading them for things you do want.

If you'd like to give to a friend your trading cards, open up a chat window with him, click on the big arrow that's near your friend's name and then further click on "Invite to Trade".

Now put up the desired trading card(s), click on the tick box that should be below the trading cards you placed up, wait untill your friend ticks that box too, then press on the big green button that says "Make Trade" (should be below your trading slots and partner's).

I just want to play games, if I wanted to trade I'd go car booting every Sunday morning

That doesn't make any sense.

If you don't want to trade them, then ignore them.

They're hard to ignore when there's a big green square in the top right of my Steam interface

I dunno. The cards have given me 158 dollars to spend on games. Seems just fine to me.

I've gotten over 125 dollars from selling and trading cards and I didn't spend one dime of my own money. I love the trading cards!

If you really don't want your cards, I'd be happy to take them off your hands. Especially the Borderlands 2, Bioshock, Contagion, and Summer Sale cards, but any would be welcome.

If you're interested, please add me as a friend and message me, and we'll work it out.

Thanks! :B1:

You don't actually need a chat window to trade. If the friend has an inventory that's accessible for you, HIS inventory page should have an "Offer a trade" button at the top.

For myself, I even have a group for the sole purpose of having a non-public "discussion" with a trade link for my account. So, accounts that I don't need on my "friend list" can be part of the group and get access to that "discussion".

In a similar fashion, if your friends inventory is not accessible for you, you could just send him your trade link and tell him to grab your cards. Counteroffeers probably work too -- so telling him to make you any offer and you'll just counter it with the proper one should work too.
