How to run counter strike 1.6 in full screen non-window?
I want to run counter strike full screen non window, but every time I try I cant see anything. Just black. I can hear the mouse going over the options, new game icons or whatever there called but I cant see anything. I have and old monitor, but it should definitely be able to run CS in full screen. Please help:P

select "wide screen" instead of choosing normal in video setting....

Agares, do you mean just hit ESC? And what "wide screen" option are you talking about?
M-16, What do those commands do? And thanks all:)

1. Open steam, click right on Counter-Strike and go to properties, click on launch game options.
2. Put this in game launch options: -gl -nofbo -width 800
3. Start the game and enjoy.

None of the Commands worked, I even tried minimizing and then opening. Still black screen. Maybe my monitor cant support it or something? Its like some old compaq.

It would help if you specify what kind of resolution your montior supports.

-w 640 -h 480 > forces the resolution to 640x480
-w 800 -h 600 > forces the resolution to 800x600
-w 1024 -h 768 > forces the resolution to 1024x768

try setting -w & -h to your desktop resolution
