Flash Player Not Working
So I have the latest update for Steam and I also have the latest update for Flash Player (14.whatever it is now). All of these were updated today. Last night I was able to watch a video for a game and it is saying that I need to install the latest version of Flash Player. Don't know about anyone reading this but I see a problem with this picture.

Now problem is I was watching some stuff on Steam last night and it was fine. So this tells me the one of these two updates broke something. I have uninstalled Flash Player as that is the only one I have any control over and reverted back to version 13 for Flash and still no luck.

I am running Windows 8.1 (stop snickering in the back, oddly enough I kind of like it), with a system more than capable of running it so that is not the problem. I would welcome any help in regards to this because while I don't watch game trailers etc often I do like to watch them from time to time. Thanks.

this is stupid, my IE has adobe plugin, chrome has adobe plugin, if steam wants to act like its own browser then they need to have their own plugins that auto update as well.

As for installing the "Other Browsers" version of Flash I have and no luck. This is an issue with Steam and Valves lovely quality control team was apparently on break for this one, like all other times they should test something out and dont.
Flash player needs updating?
As it says, when I go to view a store page to see vids/screens of the game, it won't do anything and says "Please update your flash plugin" even though it is completely up to date. >->

And this is on the steam app thing, not the steam website.

Do you have both installed?
Flash for ActiveX for IE (This is only for IE browser)
Flash for Other Browsers (This is for other browsers; Firefox, Steam Client, etc.)

I use chrome so.... and the other browsers thing just gives me different setups to choose from, like win8, linux, mac and all that
just get adobe flash for 'other' browsers. then restart steam.

thing is, it's stuck at the 'install' phase, it's just sitting in the background doing nothing.
I was also able to watch steam videos yesterday and now its not working, Steam did update for me yesterday but my Google Chrome Flash Player also updated because I got a notfiaction saying pepflashplayer.dll updated

I have windows 8.1 too and I'm totally cool with it. I downloaded the adobe plugin and its working fine for me now. I can see pics and videos. I just don't get why we need the plugin when windows 8.1 has flash pre-installed. There is something weird going on. I might just un-install flash and wait for a fix. It was working fine before.
Win8 Flash is useless; that is only for Metro-UI.

Using Desktop in Win8; then u still need Flash from Adobe.com
If not then there would be no Win8 option for it on Adobe.

I had the same problem but if I tryed to install the Adobe update steam crushed :C
Don't install Adobe Flash "updates"
Uninstall it and then install the latest version from Adobe.com

Close out your browsers and Steam Client when doing it.
Steam will most likely patch this issues within a week or 2. I hope.
This must be an issues with steam flash player is working in big picture mode perfeclty fine.
Ok...I was p**sed off about this. I went and tried what the guy said about "other browser"...and it worked. But...I am still p**sed off about it. Pretty stupid to make a change to steam, then if you want steam to work, force people to dance around a stupid mess and still try to make sure you dont mess up and get google installed. What dont they get about "I dont want ur crap on my computer!" If I say no once....save that answer and know it in the future and stop asking me if i want google or chrone!

And Steam? you should be ashamed of your selves for this crap. If you wanna use flash and update it...you should give us what we need without making us play this stupid game getting YOUR browser to work.

Tell ya what, steam. You want to do this again...I wont go through the hassle of updating my flash again and I wont buy any dang games till you fix it your self. How is that for fair trade huh?

Lets see how your foolishness affects your sales and then you may listen to the people who keep you in business!

And a word for the trolls that lick steam's boots no matter what they do and will flame me over this.....dont...you will look worse than you usually do. Just shut up for once and let steam take what they have comming.
