Flash Player Not Working
So I have the latest update for Steam and I also have the latest update for Flash Player (14.whatever it is now). All of these were updated today. Last night I was able to watch a video for a game and it is saying that I need to install the latest version of Flash Player. Don't know about anyone reading this but I see a problem with this picture.

Now problem is I was watching some stuff on Steam last night and it was fine. So this tells me the one of these two updates broke something. I have uninstalled Flash Player as that is the only one I have any control over and reverted back to version 13 for Flash and still no luck.

I am running Windows 8.1 (stop snickering in the back, oddly enough I kind of like it), with a system more than capable of running it so that is not the problem. I would welcome any help in regards to this because while I don't watch game trailers etc often I do like to watch them from time to time. Thanks.

Steam client needs a HTML5 Flash player?
My Steam client has just recently stopped showing any Youtube content or screenshots in the store pages and saying it requires the newest version of Flash, well, my laptop already has the newest version and when I tried to update it via the client, it said this: 1: To proceed, open your download folder and locate the Adobe Flash Player Installer file, named like "install_flashplayer[xxx].exe”.
2: Double-click on the installer to complete the installation. For additional help, click here.

Which download folder? The one on my laptop was/is empty so... I'm now confused...

Download + install the version for "other browsers".

this worked for me...it didn't at first because I pulled a noob move and forgot to reboot my computer... when I did that, flash worked fine for me...
thanks for the help

It only seems to affect a small percent of the users. I wouldn't put any money on any fix coming through Steam any time soon.

instead of taking frustrations out on TirithRR for speaking the truth we could try to resolve this a group...

I had the same issue, after the latest Steam update, and this is what i did and worked:

1 - Go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
2 - Select Windows 7 / Vista / 2008 / 2003 ( Or whatever it is your system )
3 - Select " Flash Player for other Browsers " <--- Make sure it's the " Other Browsers " option
4 - Untick Mcafee stuff ( or any other useless stuff )
5 - Download & Install
6 - Restart Steam

Did all of the above and after rebooting my computer this seems to have fixed the problem for me...thanks to mymore tech savvy friends for the help

I too am running Win 8.1 as it totally supports the AMD FX9370 cpu without patching as win7 required. So I installed a new WD raptor in my system, installed 8.1 and went and got all the updates and drivers, I then loaded in Steam. This is where my issues started. No flash plug in. I tested flash that is native in 8.1 and it worked flawlessly, used IE 11 to go to Steams website, it worked flawlessly, then tried Steams browser again, and no flash plugin is noted. I opened 2 tickets without anyone from Steam replying. It is a annoyance that Steam released a update to their browser and it created this problem and has not taken the time to let their users no there is a problem that is or will be address in a timely manner.
