store them in your invetory.
You either activate them for your own library or get Humble Bundle gift URLs you can give to your friends.
Nope. As a general rule, basically nothing bought ouside of Steam can be put in the inventory - there are very few exceptions such as certain games which grant additional copies (e.g. Interstellar Marines - Spearhead Edition bought from a bundle gave me a standard copy in my inventory.)
Sadly, anyone has ever gifted me anything from HB so I can't know better.
Steam does NOT allow redeeming keys into your inventory.
Most games on Humblebundles (this can be disabled if the publisher says so) can be gifted through a special Humblebundle link that removes the game from your Humble library and makes a separate "page" for it. You can then EMail the link for this page to the recipient.
Redeeming such a gift-link, unfortunately, doesn't add the "page" to your Humble library. Also, I don't know whether you can claim such a link, and then re-gift it.
Yes, you can, on Humble Bundle at least. I haven't tried on Indie Gala's redemption system.
Claiming the gift just sends an actual redemption link to your email you claimed it with. You can then give that Humble Bundle link to anyone you want. They log in, and claim the gift to their Steam Account.
I have done it before with a gifted link.
