Credit card was charge when it didn't go through.
Somewhere in this past June, there was a product that was 50% percent off and I want it so bad. So I ask my mom to please get it for me. And she said yes, she can buy it. So I got her credit card, went to my computer, than login my Steam account, and enter her card. When I finish typing her card, and than click done. The card didn't go through at all. And I wasn't able to get the product that I wanted. This month, a letter came and was charge to my mom's credit card. It was from Steam Powered and it was $48 and some cents. I have no clue how my mom got charge from Steam when her credit card wasn't able to go through and I wasn't able to order anything. Please help.

The ones that I had before it does show in the list. But the product that I try to get using the credit card I didn't even at all. Because first, the credit card didn't get through in Steam.

If it didn't go through it should still show as "failed" on the "STORE TRANSACTIONS" tab.

This may be relevant:

Why was I charged twice for my purchase or charged for a purchase that says it failed?

In both of these cases, when a purchase fails one of the banking fraud checks, your bank may place a hold on the funds for up to 5 business days. These funds will not be collected by Valve. Please contact your bank to see if they will release the held funds.

If you still see a pending charge after 5 business days, please contact Steam Support so that we can investigate and help resolve the issue with your bank.

See the info I posted above. It applies to most credit card gift cards as well. The funds should return in about 5 business days. If it doesn't there should be a phone number on the back of your card.

(generally speaking, thread hijacking is frowned upon)

also if you want official steam customer service support (account, billing, etc) :
https://support.steampowered.com/
use an email address different from the email address used in steam game client.

When people say "your bank" they really just mean the card issuer. In this case, it would be VISA, and there should be a 1-800 number on the back or a website you can use. Some sort of 24/7 support line to contact VISA and discuss issueswith the card balance.

I do not suggest using pre-paid debit cards. In addition to being a ripoff they also have trouble on some internet sites like Steam. Due to the high amount of attempted credit card fraud on Steam, they take a couple extra measures to verify the billing name and info that you submit is the same that the card issuer has on file. Since prepaid cards don't have that info by default purchases can often fail. Most card companies will allow you to contact the number on the back of the card for you to attach your billing info to the card. That process may take a couple of business days depending on the company.
