Antivirus blocking games

Hey, I have Bitdefender free edition running on Windows 7.
It blocks certain games after installation and it shows up in the bitdefender directory.
I have looked up troubleshooting of this problem, but everything is related to the paid version of Bitdefender where you can actually change settings.

I am looking for an alternative anti virus that I can exclude games from being blocked, or some sort of help regarding the issue. thanks for your time guys!

microsoft security essentials won't bug as much as others.
no need to do anything to it , just put the steam folder in the exclusions maybe.

Is MSE a good AV? or does it even really matter when you arent trying to pay for AV in the first place?

I just want to be able to launch steam and its games with out any problems as well as protect myself online... ( I use Utorrent a lot)

all AV's are as good or as bad , I judge them on nagging me.
a weapon is as good as the hand that weelds it.

MSE , malwarebytes free version and adblock plus , I am as clean as a wistle and I don't need MSE for that at all.

Mse could be not enough.
Free can be good too.
Just make an exception for safe things.

If you dont know what you do, its ok to stay with your full thing.

I use those programs to know that i didnt need them. Others need them. So you cant look on others.
Mse is bad in tests.
Why not making exceptions in your program?

the 3 listed is a solid combo.

depending on the browser you use , a script blocker for that would be good security.

well, @muppet ampong puppets, I know that i should make an exclusion, but the bitdefender free version doesn't have any kind of setting like that.
I'm not new to the whole "dont go on this site, or dont download untrusted" stuff, but you know, just in case, I want to have something that doesn't leave my PC voulnerable.

and @spoof, I would try the combo with the exception of malwarebytes... which I use about once a month to clean up, but I uninstall it because it slows the hell out of my computer

the free version is not slowing anything down at all it is not running anywhere if you are not doing a quick scan.
I doubt it is a malwarebytes problem anyway.

Actually, is there a free AV that's simple enough to not really nag me that much, and that I can set exclusions for games that get blocked on steam?
honestly, all i really need...

It seems as if bitdefender free doesnt have such a function......
Forget what i said, use something else.... as principle.

There are free full versions of protection out there, which are good in tests.

Might just go with Avast, or Avira. Iv'e had both of those in the past, and they're pretty decent. the tests on them are on the higher side of the charts, and they have controls to exclude if im not mistaken
