Game Recording - Serious Mic audio clipping
I've tried adjusting the voice input volume/gain setting almost all the way down and it doesn't effect the game recording. Also the game volume and discord volume is extremely low (I have all system audio selected).

Anyone have any idea on how to adjust my microphone settings (without changing sound settings on windows) and the game recording audio?

Here's a clip of what I'm talking about:

Absolutely same problem. Did you find the solution?
Following. Same problem for a while now, yet it didn't used to do this. I've tried numerous things and nothing helps.

Do you have a fan by chance? I noticed that after turning my fan off the clipping basically disappeared. I think it has to do with the mic picking up audio from your fan but nothing is happening so it raises the volume using automatic gain control... Either way turning your fan off may work.

I fixed my mic popping. It was a Windows device frequency desync issue, not a steam setting issue.

Steam's game recording update added a new microphone device to windows called "Steam Streaming Microphone". In its properties, Advanced tab, the Default Format is 1 channel, 32 bit, 44100Hz. My pc has all devices using a frequency of 48000Hz, so I chose the same format as my physical mic: 2 channel, 24 bit, 48000Hz.

The important thing here is just match the Hz to whatever your system is using for the majority of its devices and that should get rid of the desync mic clips/pops
Finally fixed mine. Prior to the update, when I had my audio recording set to "All system sounds", it wouldn't capture my friends' voices in discord. So I had it set to "Game and selected programs" and i picked discord, etc. This worked well until the update. Now I changed it back to "all system sounds" and it stopped the awful sounds that were happening when my mic audio was recorded.

For the record, changing the frequency in my mic settings did nothing. No fan in my room. No other fixes suggested did anything to help.

Check your Nvidia game capture settings, if you are using that.
Same issue.. What kind of mics do you have?

Completely disable Nvidia overlay and in the list of microphones Nvidia broadcast
