My multiplayer games have lag issues when I try to play them.

Recently I've been having server connection issues with both Insurgency: Sandstorm, and Team Fortress 2. I mainly play Co-Op on Sandstorm, and have been consistently getting that red server icon that causes my game to lag and has thus rendered it unplayable for me. I can't even get into a casual match on Team Fortress 2, and getting into a Community Server gives me auto-connection errors in game. I've cleared out both download and web browser caches for Steam, but the issues still persist. I'm not sure if it's an issue on my end, or if Steam's having issues with its servers at the moment.

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)
Operating System: Windows 11 (64-bit)
Driver: Intel (R) UHD Graphics

How come you don't konw MP is a internet access into somewhere server.
thats is your ISP =Internet service providers problem. to know traffic is okay.

Rest is your pc with router and cable problem to wallplug

So have own PC update and router firmware update.

HP laptop and play in Full preformance do that make a diffrence.

did you chack with other pc, have spare or friends laptop is seen as double check, asnd Sometimes a big help in narrow down my issue or traffic into game sever issue.

Do not have other pc issue.( well depend on how you look at it, be lucky if this can fix it, but same time what cause this system issue in the first place , good luck igure that out )

MS VC++ is not part of system check, its thirdpart app make sure you have newest or whatever game use to run with the older VC++

Do not have old c++ drivers installed or 2 of same build, even that has seen cause game issue depend on what game use what. ( 64bit and 32bit ) is not same build. both of them is allowed.

Have you test a single player game just incase its not a MP issue and you also lag in a single player game.

GPU drivers with clean install is common solution, and most that ruleback to past drivers, is also seen as BIOS and Chipset driver is not update.

It's so rare a Graphic drivers is not correct, yes they can make mistake, but did you ask GPU card supprt for help. ( use old drivers or drivers not made to your specific model , you cant just use Newest driver if card is not support for it, we seen alot of steam user lately think they can or been told to do so. ( startr report them to steam for make suggestion to use a driver you been told to use. ) steam do not like advice that make mayhem and lead ppl to wrong drivers.
im pretty sure on this if this is the case. )

see how advice is , feel free to reset Windows if this can help at all, its your choise if you cant get it to work. ( do know or google how to use safe boot mode to test own pc ) if you have interference issue from app that still your problem, what is running at your pc.

Singleplayer games work fine, it's multiplayer games that are the issue. My newest driver is the most up to date one and works fine because the last one caused my screen to flicker. Also, I should have mentioned this earlier, but I'm not very computer savvy, so I had trouble following along with what you were saying. Don't really know what to input for the packet test or the speed test since I'm not sure what Sandstorm uses.

Nothing wrong then you dont know, problem is now with what,
and that why play single player game matter, best highend game single player to push to pc maximum, so you can see all seem to work there.

Dont forget old steam tip , check intergrity of game files, just incase this is it.

Do not ruleout other pc test, spare pc or friends laptop, its a smart way to try cut corners if we can call it that, because if test pc works then you know i have a own local issue to my pc.
it try to simplifyed it with okay not a steam or into game server issue, and trust me on this, alot better to narrow it down then still have the feeling could it be a ISP or Steam or Game server issue. ( normaly i do not explan things like that, but lets see if this can help you see logic in this somewhere, dont forget we can only point at something it you that need to proof where do this issue come from )

I know you're trying to help, but that sentence about actually requiring skill makes you sound condescending. I don't have a friend with a spare laptop. Ran an Operating System diagnostic on HP Support and saw that everything was fine. That Packet test doesn't allow me to pick Sandstorm for approximation, nor Team Fortress 2, so I have no good way to determine if it's good or not.

And thats why you need help thats not for the game. its a connection tester ( or cable tester ) wifi dont have cable do they, this is why cable tester aient working as a explanation.

You have failed in understand the 3 ways issue here, "there is your end connection" there is "ISP" and "steam" in other end. ( or game devs own server )

most will say here if you cant connect to own steam public server its own pc issue.
problemis there is also a ISP in the middle there.

Like I said, I'm not computer savvy. I've followed some tips on a website about trying to fix it like altering proxy settings, clearing caches, ending the task via app manager, even relaunching steam. I can connect to Co-op Sandstorm fine, it's just the latency issues have been consistent (problem started a couple days ago).

Also, just ran CMD, pinged Google, and found 0% Packet loss
