My update file size gets rapidly bigger while updating

Game is Euro Truck Simulator 2. Can't post post there cuz im banned from their community. The update size was 110mb first, then rapidly expanding to 3gb, 9gb, 16gb, WHILE UPDATING.

Nice, so at the end i need to download more and while my internet speed is high, my own data usage will be 10GB more, best combo if I pay 40€ for 40GB a month but need to spend half of it for updating a game!

The update is 110mb but the patching process requires a disk write of Xgb of the existing architecture. This is not a download but nothing more than a write to disk which does not affect your data. The download screen even tells you which is disk and which is network (blue) and which is disk (green)

No, it literally downloads 16GB as shown in the picture. Even restarting PC/steam/download doesn't fix the issue

Oh, and when I download like 11gb of 16gb

then pause and restart

Ask the devs, not every game installs the same and steam just hosts the download server
