Steam Deck Refund Question
Made the mistake of ordering a 256GB steam deck before black friday in case stocks ran out. The plan was to use the discount policy to retroactively apply the discount in the case it actually went on sale. Unfortunately for me, the 256GB steam deck was the only one not to go on sale while the 64GB and the 512GB both went on sale for 15% and 25% respectively. Basically I am going to be paying an extra $100 for a direct downgrade.

Because of that I was thinking of refunding the deck, though I am unsure whether the refund would go through because the package is already en route but not out for delivery. I submitted a ticket asking if it was possible to apply the discount to the 256GB variant as well so I would not have to try; but as of now I feel like I am running out of time and I have gotten no response as of yet.

Does anyone have any kind of tips for this kind of situation? Thanks!

You have up to 14 days of receiving the hardware to return for a refund.

You'll have to wait for the package to arrive and then initiate a refund. As long as the Deck is enroute to you, the purchase is considered completed. It's not like you can tell Steam you don't want it and it magically goes back to them.
