Installing is Fine, Updating is a Nightmare

Starting the update, disk/network ramp up to standard download, but then dies very quickly. After, it simply cuts in-and-out. For 1 sec of download, 10-15 secs of down time. Happens for every game. Makes an 30min update into 6 hours, making it easier to reinstall a 150GB game.

Are you running update in laptop battery mode or no free storage space ?.
if you have under then 200gb you are already in trouble on every disk or any disk partions.

6 hours update, that's not even possible on a pc 20 years ago.

ps.
You either have other task running at pc defrag or pc backup or other things use disk so double task is running, even live or active antivirus app can cause performance issue.

Steam use CPU disk I/O & RAM or it will use viatual page at system so low ram do not make it better. ( 16gb ram ) has been standard for win10 generation best for performance.


make sure powercord is on and it charge up in laptop + run in FULL Performnce mode in powerscematic.

Start your system in safe mode (for obvious reasons with networking) and see how it updates then.

also sounds like BGIII game then you need way more free space then needed doing process of its install and patching, game suppoort say rhis on there own forum support page.

try changing your download region. had this problem before when i had 1.5 kBps internet
