UK Server Downloads
For the past 2 weeks only on steam my downloads I go from my normal speed of 90-100MB/s all the way to 0, and then it flucuates between 15 and 0.

Does anyone know what on earth is going on with their servers?

Because it most definitely isn't my gigabit internet connection which downloads just fine on all other launchers.

This happening to anyone else?

There's much more to Steam downloads than network bandwidth, sounds like you're having I/O issues, what kind of drive are you downloading to?

i have zero issues with downloads, i usually get between 150 and 260 Mb/s on my Virgin Media broadband.

Are you downloading to an SSD or mechanical HDD?

I am downloading to an SSD, never had this issue 2 weeks ago it is only recently it has started happening, drive is optimised and healthy as did a health check on it recently.

It is only steam that this happens with, all other launchers Epic, Xbox, EA, Blizzard etc all download at my usual speeds.

is your download region set to manchester or london?

One thing to try is disabling the drives write cache through Windows. It's unlikely to be the case as it was ok a couple of weeks ago, but worth eliminating/

I live in Scotland so it's set to Manchester, if you're going to suggest that I change it, I've done that. Multiple times.

Yeah did this too, I honestly just believe it is a Steam thing, it definitely isn't anything wrong with my PC or connection.
