Games appeared and disappeared in wishlist

A game has been made unavailable in my wishlist, which I put there on 2/10/2019. At the same time, Rocket League—which I have never wishlisted nor been interested in—has appeared, higher on the list and sharing the same date of 2/10/2019.

I can only assume something happened on the back end to cause this.

Previously when a game was removed or hidden by the developers from the store, if you had it wish listed it would be hidden in your list but would still count towards the number of items in your list overall. You had to use a script to manually find what game it was and remove it yourself, if you had noticed it was gone.

Steam recently did a silent update to the wish list so that any games that had previously been removed or hidden from the store now show up in your wish list so you can remove them yourself at the click of a button.

That's good to know, but it doesn't explain why a completely different game appeared in the removed game's place with the exact same wishlisted date.

If i remember correctly Rocket League was removed from Steam a long time ago when Epic brought the rights to it and moved it to their own store. Maybe you just forgot you had wish listed it back in the day.

I'll say again: I have never wishlisted Rocket League. Using the trick you linked, the removed game appears to be Electric Highways (ID 412140), which I've never even heard of.

Perhaps it should be noted that I did wishlist a game on 2/10/2019, that being Kenshi (ID 233860). I don't know how that action would add two more without my consent, much less years later.
