Do we earn Steam Points for gifting Steam Gift Cards to friends?

If no, why not, because from my understanding as long as you spend on Steam platform you get points (from external funds at that). And if I spend money to gift a card to my friends by logic I should get points too as they would for spending that fund from their wallets.

Interesting, I've not received any points yet despite it being almost 6 hours since I gifted my friends steam gift cards

Gift cards do not grant points to the gift card purchaser.

The recipient of the gift card will receive points from their store purchase.
