8bitdo Ultimate 2.4ghz controller x-input broken on Steam Deck, works fine in Windows

I have the 8bitDo Ultimate Controller with Xbox style buttons. Bluetooth mode works fine. But I can't get 2.4g mode to work. When I connect the 2.4g dongle to my windows laptop, the controller works as expected in Steam. However, when I connect the dongle to my Steam Deck, the controller rumbles and the light stops blinking, indicating that the controller is connected, but it does not show up in the controller section, and none of the controls work. I have updated to the latest firmware on the controller and the dongle, and my Steam Deck has the latest stable update. HELP!

Yesterday I updated to the newest stable version (Sept 13, 3.5.19) and suddenly the 2.4 connection on my 8bitdo Ultimate Controller won't work. Anyone else seeing this? The bluetooth connection works fine, thankfully, but I am shocked that this straight up killed the 2.4 connection with the dongle.

What I have tried so far.

- Rebooting. So much rebooting. Same issue.
- Flip it to bluetooth on the back, connects just fine as a "Pro Controller"
- Updated the firmware on the controller
- If I fiddle with the controller while in 2.4 mode, SOMETIMES it will show "8bitdo Ultimate Controller" as a bluetooth controller I can select. When I do select it, the whole system restarts.
- I can't consistently find a way to make it show up in the bluetooth list, it just happens randomly

Anyone else having issues?

Yeah, same for me, it's not working after the Steam Deck update :/

Thats weird cuz i have the opposite problem. It will only connect with the dongle now in D input but it no longer works in X input at all without it. And i kinda need it without as i dont have enough usb ports ;-;

I can’t help much, as mine is working. Only thing I can comment on is that I do also have it set to D-input (I always have).
