Server issues- Half Life 2-Deathmatch

I'm having an issue attempting to get in to any server hosting Half-Life 2 Deathmatch. I keep getting disconnected and the message I receive states- THE SERVER YOU ARE TRYING TO CONNECT TO IS RUNNING AN OLDER VERSION OF THE GAME. I don't know what happened. I've been playing on the same servers for more than 7 years with no issues. I built a new rig 2 years ago and never an issue. I've had the same version of HL2 since it came out 10 years ago and been playing Half Life for 20. Can anyone assist? Greatly appreciate any assistance. I'm retired now and this has put a damper on my gaming time. Thanks

Your game is updated, the server you're trying to join hasn't updated yet, version mismatch prevents connection.

If you can get in contact with whoever runs the server tell them to update, other than that you can only wait.

Thats not cool. Game is updated so a lot of servers doesnt connect anymore. Thank you Steam!!
