Download game first then Install it

Hello all, as the title says I want to download a game first then Install it because I recently updated my internet connection to 1000mbs and when I download a game the speed drops to the speed the disk needs to install the game. It is an M2 SSD but the download speed goes down to 200mbps after 30seconds. Sometime drops to 0 then goes up to 900mbps for a bit and then goes back to average 200mbs

I searched all the settings and found nothing. Any ideas?

no, not possible. You cannot separate the steps because Valve deems it more cost effective to throttle the download speed relative to your drive's write speed.

Try disabling the Windows write cache on your SSD.

Also the double task, dl fisrt then unpacling and install, steam use write on the fly.

Your drive should be fine, I'm getting 924mbps down on a 900mbps connection without issue. Could it be your CPU can't handle the download and installation at the same time?
