And make sure you do not haver other multi device at own lan network that use bandwide.
It's very rare user complain over own lack of bandwide, most here with gb lan card also might have gb fiber ISP connections.

To dl and patch games , mnay have a option do it then pc is idle, many have learn this from IT-compnay that update OS and pc at midnight, this has been done on over 2 decads if not more.
Why will we as games not do this if we can not take advantage of same way they do this.
think over this why waste time on install patch's then you have freetime & play time.

Steam opens a ton of parallel connections and often overwhelm crappy routers.
you can set how much 100mbit if you wish, try know your wan liens first before you set a limitations with it.

And rest of the household bandwide usage can also matter.
My internet is not super fast so it takes me several hours to download a really big game, which sucks.
