I just wanted to say that those who assign "clown" awards arbitrarily to offend others really disgust me as a person.

I opened a genuine topic and thought this was the right section because I thought it would be helpful to point out that I disagree with the arbitrary assignment of "clown" awards.

Unfortunately, my expectations were too high in trying to discuss civilly with arrogant people who have no respect for anyone and I let myself be provoked by children.

It's a Jester, not a clown. And while you can infer a meaning behind it, it's only an assumption unless someone outright explains their reasoning for it.

Assuming it is meant to insult or offend, the only thing you can control is your own reaction to it. If you immediately get offended and/or lash out because of it, you're letting them win. If you take it in stride and hold your head high in the face of those insults, then you're the better individual.

Bullies will single out the weakest individuals from the heard. Be stronger and they'll eventually leave you alone. Now that they know you aren't a fan of the Jester, they'll most likely target you more. It's your reaction that they're feeding off of. Starve them and they'll move on.

But again, one cannot know the true intent behind an action unless it's been explained.

Has nothing to do with taste, it's the fact those that deliberately goes out of their way to make BAD posts to try farm internet clown points simple as that.

There are Dankmeme, edgelord meme, dark meme, awareness, and etc... They all have their place, and all can offend, and hurt someone feelings, but these don't necessary make them bad posts.
