Wallet Codes in other countries

So, I heard Steam policy had changed recently and the topics I found were from 5 years and longer ago, so I am asking - can I, living in POLAND, buy a wallet code for my friend living in BRAZIL? Also, as far as I understand if it works at all it has to be digital, not a code from a physical card?

You can get a digital code for your friend of course through Steam, or on some sites that sell those cards and the like, but for physical cards I'm not sure.

Physical gift cards are currency locked. If you buy a card in Euros, only those with a Steam Store currency in Euros can redeem it.

A digital gift card does not have that restriction. If you were to buy a 10 Euro digital card for someone whose Store is set to USD, the Euros will convert into the equivalent USD when accepted.

Please note that you can't use existing wallet funds to purchase a digital gift card.

To add it may, or may not work for varies regions, but to keep it simple if simply wish to gift a friend, or family that living in another country, which their account is set to that not same region as you, then simply just do ONLINE gifting, this removes regional restrictions, and yes it converts to their currency once they redeem it.

If you MUST gift someone by physical card then might as well forget about it.

nah ig they have some restrictions stating that a code purchased in a particular country, can be redeemed only in particular countries, check the list if you want
