Mic sound really loud in steam clips

My mic sound is extremely loud and bugging out in the steam clips, I tried changing inputs and lowering the volume in the microphone settings, nothing worked. Has anyone else had this issue?

yup, turned my input volume down to like a tenth of what it was at and i'm still way louder than the game or my friend on disc

turning voice transmission threshold under voice to high helped my mic's audio quality though
